Eddy Current (Electromagnetic Testing (ET / ECI)

Eddy current testing uses electromagnetic induction to detect flaws in conductive materials. ECI is capable of detecting and locating surface and near subsurface cracks, corrosion, inclusions and damage. ECI can be used for thickness measurements of materials and coatings in addition to conductivity measurements for material identification, heat damage detection, case depth determination and heat treatment monitoring.

Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT / FPI)

Liquid penetrant testing uses capillary forces to locate discontinuities open on the surface of non-porous materials that are not visible to the naked eye. PT can be used to detect flaws such as cracks, laps, corrosion and porosity in non-ferrous and ferrous materials including aluminum, brass, bronze, cast iron, glass, plastics, rubber, stainless steel and steel.

Magnetic Particle Testing (MT / MPI)

Magnetic Particle Inspection is used to locate defects on the surface and near surface of ferromagnetic materials. MPI is capable of detecting and locating discontinuities such as cracks, laps, seams, voids, pits, pores and lack of fusion.

Positive Material Identification (PMI)

Positive Material Identification (PMI) is the analysis of a metallic alloy to establish composition by reading the percentage quantities of its constituent elements. Material verification for quality assurance and control is critical to product safety. Next Level Testing can quickly and accurately determine alloy composition and grade for a wide range of chemical chemistries using our LIBS Analyzer (no radiation).

Industrial Radiography / X-Ray (RT)

Industrial radiography is used to detect and locate surface and internal flaws and degradation in material.

Ultrasonic Testing (UT / UTT / PAUT)

Ultrasonic testing uses sound waves to detect surface and subsurface discontinuities such as cracks, shrinkage cavities, bursts, flakes, pores, delamination's, porosity and corrosion. UT is also used to measure material thickness and to inspect bonded structures for bonding voids.

Visual Inspection / Borescope Inspection

Visual inspections provide a means of detecting and examining a wide variety of component and material surface discontinuities such as cracks, corrosion, contamination, surface finish, weld joints, solder connections and adhesive disbonds. In addition to general visual inspections, NLT is capable of performing borescope inspections in aircraft, components and engines.
